Thanksgiving 2014 / Another fall break

Thanksgiving was the last week of November and even though we had a Fall Break in October we had the whole week of Thanksgiving off from school. To Thatcher we went.

 Gemma and her selfies
Poor Kodee felt horrible practically the whole week we were there with Grandma. He was looking forward to the trip the most I think. He would play as much as he could with cousins and then do this...crash.
The first couple of days in Thatcher I had run out of eye solution; all I had was Hydrogen Peroxide. And..I forgot to bring the cylinder case that has the charcoal in the bottom. One morning I put my contact straight in my eye without rinsing off the HP and boy did it burn! I had a hard time opening my eye to get the contact out. I even think I tried putting it in again. Needless to say I had to wear my contacts the rest of the day and some of the next. The eye people warned me. My left eye or right one in the picture was really red. This does not do it justice.
Thanksgiving morning we got up early for our 2nd annual Turkey Trot. (9th time for the Valley)
We were much more prepared this year than last. I had also not just had a baby two months before.
This year we did not bring the kids.
Things went a little smoother.
Got our picture with the mascot Stephanie.
Then it was race time!
Jordan stayed with me for about a mile and then I had to slow down.
I also did have to stop for about 5 minutes to walk, but other than that I came in at 32 minutes. A whopping 13 minute improvement from the year before. I'll take it! Jordan got 29 minutes-the little stinker! Instead of sticking around for the raffle after we headed back to the house.

They had a photographer take pictures throughout the race and put them online a few hours after. There's Jordan going uphill passing people away.

Time for turkey!
Joanna's family was there and Kim and Jim's. I think we stayed at Nee Nee's house that week.
The food was wonderful! I tried really hard not to eat too much at lunch. I needed room for pumpkin pie baby!
Later that day we took down the books from the shelves in the front room to make room for: Nativities!
We ended up making an assembly line to get them down the easiest.

Aren't we clever. Jordan was very surprised the shelf in the closet didn't fall down after putting all the books on it.
After placing the nativities we pulled down the rest of the Christmas decorations and went to town. The place was decorated in no time.
Lottie surprised us and took her first steps that week too! Walking at 14 months. Jaxon was 10, Kodee was 17 months and Gemma was 15 months when they learned to walk.
After a wonderful week with family we had to get back home to prepare for the upcoming week and also so we could decorate our house for CHRISTMAS!

Gemma showing us her placed ornament
 Jaxon's turn
The kids did really well this year. I think I only had to move 2 or 3 ornaments from harms way (Lottie)
This was one of my favorite spots. Jordan knows how to place things just right. I did the poinsettias and he did the rest.

Kodee kept finding my old ornaments that had candy canes as part of the design and then started eating them. Gross! Those are at least 15 years old. He didn't care. This kid..
 Good looking tree!
Nice Christmas scene of grandpa's on the piano
We sure love Christmas time! The kids bring such a wonderful, fun spirit into the holiday!
