The Goopy-Eyed Monster

Jax was hit with pink eye hard this week. It started in one eye, then spread to the other. We've been doing all we can to wash our hands and not let him too close to Kodee. So far we've all been able to avoid it. . hallelujah!

Poor Jax, it seems like we've been dumping him off to a babysitter or family in our ward every night to attend all of our concerts. There's been a ton of them! Ari performed a solo in the Messiah last Sunday- she did a great job! Sang the "And suddenly there was with the angels. . ." solo- the first soloist of the night to hit a "high A" I might add. It was pure and clear-just perfect! The Wednesday before that I had my middle school Christmas concert. The musical theater class performed Home Alone and the choir did a bunch of Christmas favorites- my favorite was Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas.
This is when we did "Christmas Shoes." Another crowd favorite. My niece, Alyssa and her friend Whitney played the violin and viola with us.

Last week seemed LONG- Tuesday was another Middle School concert- The Polar Express. The kids did great! Wednesday was by far my most stressful concert- the High School Fine Arts Christmas Program! The students did not let me down and did a FANTASTIC job! This is how I know I love my job- seeing the concerts, and knowing all the hard work that went into them. My Taste of Sound (show choir) group really stepped it up this concert- had some goose bump moments!

Now I just need to endure this next week, shouldn't be too bad- just a couple of finals and movies to watch in class. . .oh and secret santa gift openings. Gotta love Christmas time in school!!! We cannot wait for next week when we get to head up to UT and vacay for a few weeks (definitely the best perk about my job!)

p.s. Did we mention last week that our car tires were slashed.? ALL FOUR OF THEM!!!! Talk about being P.O.-d! Apparently some kids went around last Saturday night and knifed about 15 cars in our town. We happened to be one of the few cars that were hit! I never win door prizes, never won any kind of contest as a kid (even when my pictures were the BEST colored, and if I ever decided to buy a lottery ticket there would be no point--- but OH OH OH!! Let me be the one to have my tires slashed! I'm not bitter. . .at least I know it wasn't one of my students. That would have put me over the edge!

Hope you're all having a great Christmas so far! Cherish the moments. . .

Jax was in AWE of the Christmas tree when we put it up. It was so cute!

This is how Ari can be found most her days

And this is how Jordan can be found on a nice, relaxing Saturday morning

Hey, at least those dirty rotten hoolagins gave you a good reason to buy new traction filled tires to face the utah snow.

I'm glad your holiday has been filled with beautiful MUSIC, and adorable kids. Enjoy your much earned break!

Awwww...you're poor little precious boy! Pink eye is so not cool! Sorry about the tires being slashed. We had a similar experience a couple of years ago, except instead of the tires, someone bee bee gunned our windows in our car and shattered them...it was a situation like yours where there were a bunch of cars hit in the area. Little jerks!

Oh boy ... does that ever look familiar! I've been looking at that view for 30 years! Jon loves to hold little cuddly babies just so that he can fall asleep instantly and scare the poor mother half to death wondering when he is going to drop the helpless baby. Good job Jordan!

That's rotten about the pink eye. And the tires! What is this world coming to?! Well, I keep telling myself, "it could be worse". And you guys get a nice little vacation. Have fun and Merry Christmas!
