Right after graduation Ari and I had the privilege of going down to U of A for a week and directed the FFA AZ State choir. Ari accompanied while I worked on the vocals and choreography. It was such a good time. The students had a blast! They definitely had some standout performances.
Another walk down on the golf course. This one was funny because the boys' soccer ball fell into the pond. They couldn't reach it and we tried to make a current for it to go CLEAR across the pond to fetch it. Ari was insistent on this, I thought it was pointless. She proved me wrong, because after beating the water with a willow switch for 45 minutes, the ball finally reached it's destination and we were able to retrieve it. I'm sure there's a gospel principle we could pull from this. It stinks because we spoke in church that following Sunday- but forgot to use this example of determination and hard work. Next time I guess!
Beautiful sunset.
Ari's evenings pretty much consist of a fight between Nacho and Lottie. He always vies for her attention. Of course Lottie usually wins, but Nacho makes sure his voice or "growl" is heard. rrrrrrrrr, low and gutteral as menacing as a little chi can make it.
I made an origami game for him to choose a place to eat, and a movie to watch.
He chose Casa and Jungle Book. Look at this handsome boy. He is growing like a weed! 10 years old is around the corner. Yikes!
His favorite- chips and salsa.
He really enjoyed the movie. He's not really into anything suspenseful or intense, but this one was really good for him.
The first swim meet of the season. We were so ready to go! The boys were pumped! We warmed up and then BOOM a huge monsoon storm swept in and cancelled the whole thing. Pretty disappointing. Especially because this was one of only two meets we could make it to this season. Oh well, life goes on.
One night we had a spontaneous family movie night party on the trampoline. I got the projector all set up and we watch The Sandlot. Good summer time fun!
Lottie had a blast just bouncing around on everyone the whole time.
We also added some personal touches to the hutch.
Randomly- this picture started circulating at EFY this summer. I was tagged a bunch on instagram and facebook. Funny how a picture over 10 years old was suddenly the face of EFY. Fun memories here.
Gemma and I decided to recreate the pose. Ha ha.
The boys best friend in the world is Zach Schneider. Ari was so nice and invited him over for a little birthday party, since we were going to miss his birthday while we were in Utah. It was supposed to be a joint party for both Zach and I but I got the terrible bug that was going through the family that day. Lottie started this stomach flu, then it went to Jaxon, then Gemma- then me. It was awful! I don't even remember them having this party, I was so out of it. Luckily it only lasted for about 24 hours, but this was the day before we left so we were worried I wouldn't shake it. Kodee was next. Luckily Ari was spared the whole ordeal. The sad part about it was it recycled through a few of us in Utah again. Ugh!
So proud that Jaxon made it through a short season and did so well!
Right after the meet we were off to Utah! Drove through the night.
Gemma was proud of her speedy brother! We support each other in this family!
