Sunday, July 19th we woke up and put our previously packed suitcases into the van and took off again for Thatcher for the Keith Family reunion. We got there right before everyone was out of church so we snacked and hung out in the quiet before the storm!
That evening we took over the Stake Center and had a memorial for Connie's brother, Uncle Dudley who had passed away a few weeks before and didn't want a funeral. There was a great big posterboard filled with pictures of him outside the room and it was so neat to see how he looked when he was a child. (Adam P. looks a lot like him actually) Everyone who wanted had the opportunity to tell stories about him and I learned he was such a giving person. And funny! For dinner Kim and Joanna made his favorite foods-spaghetti and chocolate cake. No complaints here.
I think Kodee had two huge platefuls of it.After that we played a few games in the cultural hall.
We slept at Nee Nee's house and bless her heart for letting us stay there because she had major surgery at the beginning of the week. She even made breakfast for us!
All the big kids went to Fry Mesa for the morning so we went to the hotel pool Joanna and Jim were staying at. The pool was ice cold so they mostly stayed in the hot tub.
Kids still loved it. Adults did not
We were going to shower and change in Joanna's room but then she went up and couldn't get a hold of her so Jordan asked the front desk what room she was in and the staff told us to leave immediately.
Nice going! JK. We left and changed at mom's house. When all the other kids got back we loaded up the cars with all the game stuff. We made a line of people from mom and dad's room to the front door and handed all of the boxes that way. Joanna even sent her phone so everyone could look at it, pass it on and it turned out to be really funny.
Now we add in the new grandkids! Quite a few additions!
Maryann Layton came to take some pics of the family at the reunion. This ended up being our favorite shot. John wasn't there, and we still have plans to add him into the photo but right at this moment Brian said, "ok, everyone kiss your spouse." We all had a good laugh. JD was a body to put John's head on.
Crazy pic!
All 36 grandchildren!
And. . .EVERYBODY!
We grabbed this one of our family too!
I love this pic of mom and dad! It was their last "official" couple pic. Love you Lion Hunter!
All the siblings! Eternal family!
The "Jeanne" generational pic. Grandma Huish was in the hospital recovering from major surgery.
Lottie and Kimber- the cutie patooties.
we spent the afternoon playing really fun relay games and puzzles and a huge soccer game that turned into quite the spectacle
Gumball relay
Soccer madness!
Cousins!
Grandma took the lesson for FHE that night and told us about, "What ere thou art, Act well thy part
The kids had to figure that the shapes in the squares represented a number and each row had to add up to 9 I believe
We had a family talent show. The boys sang "Frozen Heart" from Frozen.
Mom and Dad lip sang to "Love is an open door" from Frozen
Gemma was so pooped. So was Troy.
Mom reprised her famous, "Sad Movies" lip sync she used to do when we were kids for FHE. She wants to let it be known, she did not practice for this. . . it was a whim.
Gemma kept getting passed around while she sept.
Kodee didn't last long either.
Finally she woke up to attempt to sing "Let It Go" but it turned out to be just standing there playing with her hair. Oh well. . .
Dad closed the meeting with a beautiful testimony. We were so lucky to have him as a father in our earthly life.
Jaxon HAD to play Kings and Queens before the night was over. Everyone was pretty much done but were good sports and did it for him.
