Those Sackett's are some amazing singers. They have a ton of featured solos on the Vocal point albums from the past decade.
We also threw together the Michael Buble song, "Home" so Michael Sackett could sing it to his wife for their anniversary. It was crazy only running it 2 or 3 times before the performance, but it actually ended up being pretty great.
The finale of the Variety show- A Tarzan Medley.
I think she looks so much like Aunt Kim here. Such a little Leinbach cutie.
What's a childhood without the token "I fell asleep in the high chair" pic? Oh Lottie. . .
Sisters that bathe together are CUTE :) Ha ha, at least at this age.
Jaxon was RARIN' to go for Father's and Sons campout. This is what I found when I came home from school. He loves camping through and through. If it weren't for the existence of the wolf species I'm sure he would ask if he could live on the mountain. (His biggest fear in life is wolves. Had to stem from when we watch the church pioneer movie, "17 Miracles.")
Picture perfect wife and kids on a beautiful Mother's Day. We're so lucky for this wonderful Mommy in our lives. The kids can't get enough of her, and neither can I.
Here was one of my presents for her on Mom's day. Matching Mommy/Daughter Elsa braids. They were a hit.
Here are a few snaps of my SHS Spring Shenanigan's concert on May 6th.
This is Keegan Ferguson singing a "Do You Want To Build A Snowman" solo in our Frozen feature. This concert turned out so great- the kids were wonderful. I'll embed a youtube link to features of the concert for anyone who's interested. . .
Sydney's grandma captured a magical moment here between student and teacher. This is when she was presenting me with the end-of-the-year Choir gift. Healthy stuff, and an iTunes gift card. Thanks! I love this little Squid. She's hung in there with me since my very first year of teaching at Safford. I called her mom the first day of school when she was in 7th grade and said, "Sydney HAS to be in choir. The rest is history. It's been fun seeing her compete at Jazz/Mad with quartets and have a wonderful All State experience! We sure love her and her sweet family.
This was a great year for Taste of Sound. Loved this class!
Here are highlights from my final SHS Spring Shenanigans.
So. . . you might have noticed I said, "final" SHS Spring Shenanigans. The day after this concert I interviewed for a teaching position for Boulder Creek HS in Anthem, AZ. A friend of mine has been teaching there for the past 5 years and has built up an incredible program. It's a huge, 5A school with a booming choir program. It became too much for one teacher to keep up with.
On Easter Sunday he randomly texted me and asked if I'd be interested in applying for the position. I texted back a "ha ha" response, that's funny. Who knew that a month later through a ton of prayer, and spiritually guided decisions, we would make the incredibly difficult decision to leave our beloved town of Safford and the amazing Safford schools and INCREDIBLE community, and start a new adventure in Anthem (North Phoenix) AZ. Not in a million years did I ever think this was possible. . .
