I picked up Jaxon yesterday from school thinking it was a normal day.
It was not.
The first thing out of his mouth was asking me not to laugh at what he was about to say.
He wants to marry his friend, Emma.
When they get older.
After Jordan and I die.
Why after we die, my boy???
I didn't laugh, but I did smile.
He said it so sweetly and innocently and he was cute.
He told me what a good friend she is and how much they play together.
I did mention the temple and how she needed to get baptized first in order to be sealed in the temple.
He got kind of bummed about that.
I tried not to burst his bubble so I told him she had plenty of time to learn about Jesus and the gospel.
We got home and he stopped talking about it.
I didn't think too much about it the rest of the afternoon.
We spent the evening at grandma's house and when we came home for bath Jaxon started asking me all sorts of questions about getting married and his future.
Our first child who has never really said too much wouldn't stop talking for about 45 minutes.
It was very interesting.
First was how much he couldn't wait to marry Emma and how much he was going to like her and like being married. He asked if you live alone as a couple when you get married. I said yes and he smiled and said how much fun that would be. Next was his plans to buy Mariocart and 2 or 3 controllers for the Wii and how he and Emma will play.
This was during his bath.
After his bath he wanted to comb his hair for his wedding day and then showed me the style.
He asked about suits and I mentioned tuxedos so I had to explain what they were.
Then came the questions about money and how it got in the bank. He asked how much cars and houses were. He was shocked how much a car is. Then he couldn't wait til he's 16 so he can learn to drive and buy his own car.
Then he mentioned living with Kodee and I said how they could be roomies in college. (I put in a plug for BYU, here).
He got so excited about how much fun they will have living together. He then asked if Kodee and Gemma would get married. I said I hoped they would-NOT for a long time-hopefully to someone as wonderful as daddy.
Then he asked when he could get married. At least 18 my boy, but really, after your mission so 21 or 22. He was okay with that.
I thought we were done for the night, but a few minutes later he brought Emma back up and how she is his best friend at school and how they will play together.
Well, Jaxon, I'm glad you have plans for your future. I just hope you stay this innocent for a long time and the world doesn't crush these plans any time soon.
