He's become so famous that fans are even making weird "Ryan Art" as pictured above! We thought it was hilarious!
He chose to be on Usher's team- I predicted this when I first found out he made it on the show- just sayin':)
He had a knockout, amazing first performance. All four coaches turned their chairs around! He sang Gravity by John Mayer and all of the judges were fighting for him- especially Adam Levine and Usher.
His next performance was a battle round. He was paired with another guy and sang "Ain't No Sunshine" of course he blew away his competition and was on to the next round.
Donny had a lot of fun cheering him on! Seriously- I've never seen parents be more proud of their son!:)
We had many a viewing party at the Innes'. As you can see, the day Ryan had his first audition air- I was hung up with the worst sprained ankle of my life.
Seriously- it was bad. I ran into the band room where the boys in my Singer's class were having a sectional. I wasn't looking at my footing while I ran down the stairs, and I completely missed the second step, and went down HARD on my ankle. I thought it was broken. It took me a good two months to completely feel the pain go away. I'm still weary of running for too long.
after his battle round was a round called the knock outs.
He prepared a song- Superstition, that got yanked from him right before he was to sing on the air. He had to quickly get together another song- I Don't Wanna Be by Gavin Degraw. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough time for him to feel comfortable with this song choice, and the girl that he sang against killed her song. We sat in shock, sadness, and denial. It took us months to get over. But we are so proud of him, and all that he was able to accomplish. He sang in front of MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of viewers! That's incredible- and not only that, he was a fan favorite- dominated the itunes charts with his singles from the show. His fanbase is wide spread now and he's going places. Weird to hear him say he's got meetings in New York with record labels and managers. I'm proud of him. He's an example of not giving up and living your dream! Glad he's in our lives!
