Elder and Sister Keith return home!!

May 2, 2012 Jordan worked a half day and we were off to Phoenix. We drove to Joanna's but right away turned to go to the airport. Right as we made it to the baggage claim we saw that the plane came in early. We rushed upstairs to make sure we didn't miss mom and dad while we waited for Joanna and Jim's families. Joanna made it just in time. We held up our sign and we all started getting so anxious. About 5 minutes later Jordan finally spotted dad coming down the walkway. Then we saw them. It was a most joyous reunion!! It's so great to have them home!!!  I carried mom's purse to the baggage claim and totally dumped all of it in the elevator. I felt so bad!
Right before they walked off the plane
                                                   At Joanna's for a family dinner-dad's choice-In N Out-Yum!
                                                    Here they are-in the middle

Mom and dad stayed at Joanna's that night. The next day was Joanna's B-day and she wanted to go to the Farmhouse Grill. She found a babysitter for us and we were off for a breakfast. It was delicious!! Homemade cinnamon rolls. Egg and veggie scrambles with homemade bread and hash browns with a yummy seasoning. Anytime you hang out with Joanna and David is a good time. We're so glad we could go. Then we went shopping with Joanna because she wanted a new microwave and some table decorations. We ended up at a furniture warehouse type place; they had a turquoise couch. I am in love!! Someday-I want that couch. After all the shopping Jordan prepped himself to leave for Snowflake for the Choir exchange. About five minutes later he calls saying one of the tires on the truck blew out and he couldn't find the tools to get the tire off. Joanna and dad ended up going to help. Crazy! They finally got the spare on and drove down the side of the freeway going 9 mph. He was no where near an exit or a tire shop. He went to a Big_O and they didn't have the tire and since Jordan didn't get anything they kicked him out of the store and he had to make calls to other tire places outside in the heat. They tried a discount tire and they also didn't have the tire. By this time Jordan was running out of time to get to Snowflake so he came and took our van and left me and the kids at Aunt Charlotte's house the rest of the day, stranded. Later they said the tire place only took ten minutes to replace the tire. Long story short, Jordan made it to Snowflake in record time, we didn't have to go with him, we were all safe and we got to spend more time with mom and dad. I had to drive the truck home with dad for half the trip and then Joanna. She took our kids the whole way. We went straight to Jenny's house for the reunion with grandma. She was so happy to see the missionaries! And we were off to Casa!

The next weekend the rest of the family came into town-Nancy, Jill, Jim's family, Kelly and Troy and Joanna's family. We hosted two lunches at our house and Jenny hosted the Saturday night get together and the whole Sunday dinner. Saturday we went to Casa again, Jordan had about 5 minutes to eat and had to leave for his middle school's performance of Thoroughly Modern Minnie. When we finished eating we all went to the performance. The middle school kids did awesome! I had helped the two days before and they stopped many times and I never saw the whole thing through. But, the kids really pulled it off. The main kids sang their hearts out and most of them projected really well. People talked about this musical for weeks after. We were able to find a last minute babysitter so we could go to Jenny and Richard's house for visiting and dessert. It's also a nice break when we don't have to worry about the kids.

Sunday mom and dad spoke in our ward-also Mother's Day. Mom was so funny because she started out with saying a bunch of Scottish terms and translating and she was just so jolly we were all laughing. Somehow she tied in mothers with their mission and it was a great talk. Dad was funny too because he told the story of running into a man with the last name Gunn; they and the Keith's had the biggest rivalry for hundreds of years. The primary also sang Love is Spoken Here. I played and they barely sang, they didn't have enough time to learn the song. After  church we went back to Jenny's for the dinner and pictures. This is the first time all the 7 Keith siblings were together in about 2 years.

They are not cookie cutter siblings at all! All in all a fabulous weekend!
