Our Easter Weekend.

This Easter weekend was pretty fantastic. Jordan had Friday and Monday off. We did Red Box, cleaned, and relaxed. Friday afternoon we colored eggs. The boys had a blast. Janeen came over just in time to join the fun. I got a glitter color kit; the glitter part was cool, but our colors were wimpy! The blue was about the only that worked. Jordan left an egg in the yellow for about 4 hours and all we got was a pale yellow. Later he found out all the color was on the egg white itself. Nice.

Friday night we put the kids baskets together and stayed up way too late watching Courageous. (A fantastic Christian movie about 4 cops, their families, and learning how to be better fathers.) Jaxon came in our room the next morning -it seemed very early- reminding that EB came!! I held him off as long as I could until the other two woke up. They were seriously excited about CANDY!!

Kodee opened all the eggs, dumped the candy, carefully unwrapped every piece and started devouring it. I'm pretty sure he was in a sugar coma until dinner when he finally ate real food. Sunday was the same way and some of Monday. Kodee is now on a sugar diet, if you will. We have got to get him to stop the craziness. Jaxon did not have that much candy, but Kodee egged him on and they have been extra rowdy this weekend. Church helped-he fell asleep and was out for about 2 hours! Getting back on track-Sat. afternoon we had an Easter egg hunt in the backyard. Jaxon tried going as fast as he could go. We had to make sure he didn't get all the eggs. Kodee gave the cutest squeals of delight when he would find one. And then he would laugh. Loved it! Oh, boy more candy.. Saturday night we had our Easter feast because Sunday was too hectic to do it. Jordan cooked our 9 pounds of ham, I made yummy pototoes (Gemma's new favorite food), fresh green beans and rolls. We had two strawberry sauces for strawberry shortcake. Janeen and Billy came to share our spoils. Grandma was supposed to come, but her arthritis flared up. I took her a plate later. While we were cooking Jaxon was bored so Jordan gave him the idea to re-hide some of their eggs. He wasted no time. He came in begging us to go find them. We told him to wait until Nee Nee came. That ended up being almost 2 hours. Poor Jaxon, we will spend our lives trying to keep up with him. The food was delish! We stuffed our selves silly. We finally went out to go find the eggs Jaxon hid for us. It was so cute because he hid them almost all in the same spots Jordan hid them earlier in the day. As we were looking he would run up to us with 2 or 3 eggs in his hands saying, "Look, what I found!" He loved finding the eggs he hid. Awesome! After our dessert of strawberry shortcake Joanna and her family popped in for about 10 minutes and then they were off.

Sunday was crazy! We got everyone ready early so we could all go to the church for our choir practice before church. Gemma looked so pretty! This is her Easter/Birthday dress I found for her at The Children's Place. I've waiting for 2 months to put it on her. The boys were handsome as well. We tried taking family pictures before we left, but Gemma threw a fit. This is the best we could get.
Joanna's family came for our sacrament meeting to see our little program. And they helped watch the kids while we were both on the stand. The choir sang three numbers and I felt like we did a great job. My favorite was, No Other Name. I have great feelings every time I sing that song. Jordan also found three little narrations in between each song and we felt it added to the program. As I said earlier, Kodee fell asleep during sacrament and slept until 15 minutes before church ended. Right after church we headed over to Nee Nee's for dinner. She made chicken cordon bleu, mashed potatoes and salad. Oh and strawberry cheesecake. It was WONDERFUL! Jordan and I left right after so we could go to the church for the Gila Valley Chorale's Easter cantata performance. We had a wonderful turnout, probably 500 or more. The music was beautiful, the choir sang wonderfully, and the soloists did great. Jordan sang in a quartet, and it was the best they ever sounded. If you ever want to hear some beautiful music it's Sally Deford's, "I Stand all Amazed." Check it out. After we picked up our kids we came home and were sitting in the family room and we thought- what a great Easter! One of my favorites. We are thankful for our Savior, Jesus Christ and the opportunity we have to celebrate His resurrection. He lives!

More pics of the kids from this week- to humor me:
