May flowers bring sickness to the Keith house

Well, May has not been the easiest month for our family. Jaxon started it out by having a fever and a sore throat. He probably had strep, but we never took him to the doctor and he eventually got over it. That weekend I started getting a sore throat while we were at Spring Sing. When we picked up the boys, Kodee had a fever. That night it was 104*. Wow! My boys have never had a temp. so high before. We started him on ibuprofen and that helped a little bit. That night we slept terribly. I couldn't breathe, I was achey, and my throat was really sore. Sunday we just ended up sleeping in bed almost all day. By Monday afternoon, Kodee's temp was still 102*, and I felt horrible. To the doctor we went. I also took Jaxon so the doc could see his foot which still has cactus needles in it. After two hours of sitting around and being poked and prodded the diagnosis was: Kodee- viral bacteria; Jaxon-soak foot, file, and glue to pull out needles; Ariana-mono. What?! I thought it was strep throat. You should have seen my throat-yucky! But, mono it was. Then I figured that I had been super tired every day for two weeks before the sore throat, and things made sense. That's why I took a nap everyday and no, I wasn't pregnant. Poor Kodee had to go get his blood drawn after that to see if something else was causing the high fever. The guy that drew the blood took about 2 minutes to find the vein, but Kodee was such a trooper. The next morning we found out his blood tests were normal. Huh?

Let me tell you, mono is no piece of cake. Besides being tired with no energy, and the sore throat, I had every kind of sickness you can imagine that first week. But, thanks to our good friends, the Jones', Jordan's mom, and our ward, the boys were taken care of, laundry done, and meals brought in for a week and a half. Thank you thank you! Jaxon got to spend some quality time with grandma and his cousins who were down for the week.

In the middle of all this sickness, Jordan had two huge concerts coming up. He did everything he could to stay healthy-by staying away! JK. Both concerts went off really well and the kids did a great job. I was only able to go to the high school concert, but I had so much fun. They did songs from Hairspray, Keep Holding on from Glee, Taking Chances by Celine Dion, and a huge Beatles medley. I'm so proud of Jordan for all his hard work. It really pays off in the end. Now, he's worked himself too hard. This past weekend he's been down with all sorts of ailments. Hopefully it's not mono. Noooooo!

But, there is no time to be sick anymore. My parents and sister are on their way down from Salt Lake right now and the Temple Cultural Celebration and dedication is this weekend! We are so excited! Anyone living in Arizona watch for me and Jordan in the choirs Sunday morning. It's been a great experience rehearsing with the choir so far and Sunday will be even more amazing! And my family gets to be a part of it all. It's time to party!

Hopefully after this weekend there will be no more sickness for a LONG time and we can start out summer right! We are looking forward to lots of snow cones, watermelon, and swimming!

Peace out.

P.S. These photos are within the last 2 days-nothing taken before that. Oh yeah, and Jaxon got a big boy bed from grandma's house.

oh man---being sick is the worst. I can't believe you had mono, that is probably the worst thing to have with 2 small kids. You are lucky to have family and the ward to help.

Hey guys, hope you're all feeling better. I saw Jordan singing at the temple dedication. We want details of what it was like being that close to the prophet and his cohorts.
