MLK Day= Family Day!

We love days off from school, because it gives us time to be together!! Today was a first for Jax and Kodee- we took them bowling!!

Jas was a complete natural. As you'll see from the beginning of the video, there was a progression, but now I think we're ready to sign him up for a bowling league. He loved the shoes and was sad when he had to part. Kodee was all about the Bowling Alley food. He loved him some burger!

Earlier in the week we had some girls that I teach at the high school come by and give me and the boys hair cuts. They had fun making me look like an idiot. Thanks Summer and Cassie!

One of Jax's best friends is JJ. Whenever we get on the highway and we start driving towards Thatcher he always says, "JJ?" JJ is one of my childhood friend's, Cindy Savage Anaya's son. They get along great and we enjoy spending time with them. You should see that little boy play Defense. He loves basketball. It's pretty hilarious and so darn cute! She also brought her cutie pie Sophie! What a little princess!

Jax's new thing is Puzzles. He's pretty much obsessed and can now complete 63 piece age 5 and up puzzles. He's definitely his mothers son in that area.

We're still working on the potty training. He had a pretty bad accident today out in the yard. Didn't want to tell us it was time to go, cause it would interrupt his schedule. Ari's a gem for cleaning that one up.

We got a new couch (thanks mom and dad) in the piano studio room. Jax and Kodee love to get on it and smack the window trying to get the hundreds of birds we have attacking our trees to fly away (a game I taught them this morning.) I especially love how Jax decided to do it buck naked- this kid does not like to wear clothes.

Kodee is such a bundle of sweet cuteness. He gets more and more adventurous and SASSY every day. In church on Sunday we were sitting on the back pew before the walkway, and there's one more pew behind that. He was mad about something and swung around to face the row behind us and gave them a look and shout that was hilarious. I think that whole pew was dying! I have a feeling we shouldn't cross this one in years to come, he will put up a fight, let me tell you.

Look what I found him doing tonight in the bathroom- he's very hygienically conscious.

Choir's going so good. The kids are all loving the songs we're doing. Some of their favorites we're working on (and a little preview of what's to come): Don't Stop Believing (glee style), Fireflies as done by Owl City, Pocketful of Sunshine as done by Natasha bedingfield, I'm working on a mashup of Already Gone and Halo by Kelly Clarkson and Beyonce, Eye of the Tiger, Birdland, El Vito, I Thought I Lost You from Bolt, The Climb as done by Miley Cyrus- just to name a few. Now mind you this is all between 6 choirs. Oh and my middle school musical theater class is doing a 50's musical review. The girls are so excited to wear poodle skirts! I love my job. Did I mention I'm teaching 22 private voice students at the house and 6 at the college!:) Am I crazy? Yes! But loving the business and eventfulness of my life.

In Singers' choir class we were able to have a moment, and it reminded me why choir is so special. We're singing "Somewhere Out There" from American Tale. As they sang it, I started thinking of what's been happening in Haiti, and all the children and loved ones that people don't even know are all right. I mentioned this to the students and we had a tear jerker moment that I know will stay in their hearts forever! Will they remember that math problem they worked on that day, or the way music touches hearts? Maybe both, but I guarantee this is why I do what I do!

God bless Haiti and the wonderful people who are doing all they can to help repair the devastation.

LOL That bowling is really funny. I didn't know they even made shoes that small!

I am so jealous that you and Cindy live so close together and that your kiddos get to play together! Your choir songs sound great! It makes me wish I was back in school! Anyway, love your cute little family!
