It has been so fun to see how excited the boys' are getting over this Christmas time. Jaxon loves to watch Frosty, Santa Claus is Coming to town, and Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer; the Classics! He was so proud to show us the paper bag reindeer he made in preschool the other day. Even though we have a gate around the tree he can reach a few ornaments and puts the colored balls in a clump. If I move them they are back to the one spot clump not ten minutes later. Yesterday at our ward Christmas party, Santa came and he sat on his lap and said he wanted a "Choo Choo," very quietly. He's all grown up; I don't think he would have done that a month ago. After the dinner we had a wonderful Nativity that lots of the ward participated in. Jaxon loved seeing the baby Jesus in the manger and when he was held.
Jordan put up the outside lights on the house and Jaxon would stand on the wagon or the end of the ladder and pretend he was helping. I stayed inside with Kodee and occasionally I would hear,"I did it!" or "I helped!" He's too funny. They loved looking at them last night when we went out.
Last night we went downtown to the City's light parade. It was great! It seemed like the whole town was there to watch cars covered in lights and little displays ride down the street. Jaxon loved it! He pointed to every Santa he saw and gasped at all the lights. Kodee loved watching all the lights and looked so cute in his big, puffy coat. It is so great to see a Nativity set on the lawn of one of the city buildings. I love small towns!
The other night at dinner Jaxon started counting something and he usually says, "1, 2, 8, 9, 10." We started with him and we said every other number and Jaxon knew the other numbers besides the 5 I just said. We were so happy he knew them and told him so. He then started bowing (in his chair still) saying, "Thank you! Thank you!" It was very charming and we just had to laugh. For the last two weeks, Kodee dumps out one of the cupboards with random appliances in it at least 3 or 4 times a day. Then he crawls up and in and has a hay day. It's cute, but so annoying trying to not step on anything when I'm doing something in the kitchen. Those boys really know how to mess up the house. When I'm picking up messes I try to think, "This will not last forever. Before you know it they will be grown." That usually helps, but sometimes I just want to scream!!
Well, we can't wait for our next holiday adventure. Jordan's middle school has their concert in 2 days. He asked me to play the piano. I hope I don't let him down. The kids will sing very well I'm sure. They love him. One such student basically said such a thing in her testimony today. It was,"I'm very grateful to be in Mr. Keith's choir class!" That's all I will say just in case someone sees the blog. Gotta love kids!

The Christmas tree thing made me laugh! Jordan would come a visit us when Joey and Adam were little, and he would comment how bad our tree looked. :) The tree was only half decorated from the middle up! :) Christmas time is so fun with little ones. Bekah gets excited everytime she see Christmas lights, she says, "mom, its a merry christmas!"...so cute! Sounds like you guys are doing good, I love the new pictures by the way. :)
Sarah was my kid that would put all the ornaments in one place. By that time, Mariah was getting to be s tickler and I would make her leaver Sarah's deco job just to bug her, mean mama!
You're right, these messes won't last too long . . . but wait until you see what is coming next!!
Get some Tot Locks for those cupboards, they're a miracle invention and truly child proof. We've got all but one cupboard locked down tight in our kitchen. The one that isn't is the only one they're allowed to open. I agree watching kids at Christmas time is so fun. Their excitement and joy keeps the grown ups going during all the hustle and bustle. Great to hear about all the speech progress! It's so fun to see the growth.
