First off, we started the day really early (6am) by going to the Groundbreaking of the Gila Valley, AZ temple. Although it was freezing cold outside it was truly special. They were expecting thousands of people so I expected we would be way in the back in our own camping chairs, but because of the cold not that many showed up. We got to sit in the metal chairs closer to the podium. We just bundled ourselves in several blankets and enjoyed the meeting. I felt this great spirit there the whole time. It was a beautiful, clear day with the magnificent Mt. Graham behind us. Once the temple is finished it is going to be an even grander sight. Elder Walker, the temple executive director said it would be the tallest building in the area and 15,000 sq. feet. The speakers kept talking about Pres. Kimball and his wife, Camilla as if they were there and how proud they are of this historic moment. (Pres. Kimball is from this area.) Kodee slept through
whole thing all snuggled in his carseat, but Jaxon wanted to run everywhere in the middle of the meeting. I'm still glad we went. They actually have gold shovels for the groundbreaking. They turned the dirt first and then they invited all the families to come up and do it if they wanted. We didn't because Jaxon was done and there was a long line, but we got some good pictures.
Date time: It was Jordan's turn to plan it this year. After taking a long winter's nap he disappeared for about two hours. After coming back and getting ready, we headed off for the evening.
There was only one waiter working so it took a long time to order. Jordan kept looking at his watch so I was thinking we would be late for something. Then he started saying he was nervous. I asked him if someone was going to come and sing to us not thinking anything of it and moved on to other things. A couple of minutes later one of Jordan's students came in and I was about to say come over when I realized it was the boy's quartet minus one. I just laughed and they started singing, "Can you feel the Love tonight." They did a really good considering they haven't really learned the song yet.
Next Jordan took us to the mountain where we could look out over the city. He brought the laptop so we could watch our Wedding Video. And he brought out strawberries for dessert. He sure knows how to win my heart! Then it was time to get back to the boys. I really enjoyed having a break from the boys because they have been driving me crazy lately. To end I'll leave with some pictures of them because they are adorable.
