Well. . .we did it. We actually made it to opening night. Boy was it crazy here in Safford. I went by the theater at 3 or so and already there was a huge line. We weren't sure how we were going to get tickets for the late show at 9, but luckily I had some GREAT students in line, who helped us out. The deal was, I bring hot chocolate, and they let us in the line. It worked wonderfully. It was also fun to chat it up with the students while we stood in line and feel the energy and excitement for the movie. I can't believe the electricity this movie created for those kids. I'm glad we saw it with them, cause it made the movie that much more exciting.
Being a fan of the books, I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. Of course books are always going to be better, but I think they did a great job adapting the book to screenplay. I even started really liking the characters they chose. All except Rosalie. Don't even get me started, I think there was just too much that poor actress had to live up to, you know what I mean.
The baseball scene definitely takes the cake for me. Everyone should go out and see it! Good fun for all! How often are you going to have a vampire movie that feels so happy most of the time?
Ari was a great sport for going and seeing this with me, having not even read the books.

I heard that it sucked.I still really want to go and see it.My sister in laws saw it but I didn't get invited to go and see it with them.I was sad but oh well. They suck.Hey I miss you guys but it is always nice to see you here in the blogesphere.Happy Thanksgiving!Ari needs to read the books.Stephenie Meyer doesn't disappoint does she?
Jordan I can't even believe that you let her not read them. What the hey? Anyway, we saw it opening day too. It wasn't too crazy because most teenagers were still in school at 12:30pm. The only thing is now I have to wait to see New Moon. I just wanted the movie to keep going and going through all four books.
i totally never read the books and me and gates went and LOVED it...especially the baseball scene...oh my GOSH that was enough for me that i need to read the books now!
