Random Encounters at the Temple

Another week notches it's way into our belt of life:) This was a doozy. Ari seems to be reaching her body's limit to expansion, and every day seems to be just a bit more uncomfortable. Jaxon seems to sense that something "huge" is in our future and is trying to get into as much trouble as possible. (His big thing lately is putting things into the microwave and turning it on.) I made it through the week, but just barely. This week was a deadline for auditions for a middle school all-state choir, and I had to audition all my students, get their cds recorded, paperwork filled out, and have it postmarked by Friday. I just barely made it. I sure hope that it pays off and some of them are accepted into the choir.

Saturday was great. Mom came over bright and early to watch Jax and we were off to the valley of the sun. We went straight to the temple and were able to do some sealings for our family. It's so neat when you have family names to take in and feel their spirit with you. We had a very cute little hispanic man doing the sealings that had the thickest accent. Some of the name pronunciations were hilarious, but very sincere and sweet.

We were then able to take our time around town shopping, seeing "Get Smart" which by the way is one of the funniest movies EVER! and visiting some friends. The most random part of the day was running into Chris Capel in the dressing room of the temple. Apparently he had just gotten married and invited us to the reception that evening. We decided to stay and see some old friends.

It was so great running into Leanna Capel. She and I were BEST friends in elementary school and middle school. It was so fun to reminisce and catch up. It's pretty hard to believe we're all grown up now.

We had a great time with Jaxon, but we kept missing him during the day, and especially at dinner didn't really know what to do with ourselves without having to entertain him and pick up after him. It was like dating, and getting to know each other all over again. I guess we have to do that more often.

What a week.

Jax and I making cookies and enjoying the batter!

Thinking he's making already popped pop corn in his skillet and with his spoon. He's seriously destined to win Top Chef one day. It's never too early to start practicing!

The old gang is back together with a new addition. . . Ari! Ari's due in Oct. while Eric on the end is due in February!

One more of Leanna and me. You would think we were still 12 years old, at least that's how I see us in "my" mind. :)

Wow how fun! I didn't know Erica was expecting and I haven't seen Leanna in probably 9 or 10 years. I love running in to old friends from High School. Looks like you guys had fun!

Looks like you guys had fun. How fun to run into Chris. That's great. I can't believe how light Ariana's hair looks. Did she get highlights? It's sad we're not there to see you guys. Wish we could be there when Kodee comes. Hope things are going well.

That's exciting that you saw Leanna. I didn't even know Erica was pregnant! That's exciting! I don't think you look 12, but I know what you mean about growing up feeling strange.
