I Finished It!

I have to say, I haven't been the biggest Stephenie Meyer fan throughout these books. I thought the first half of the first book, Twilight, was a little tough to get through, but the second half was "un-put-downable." The second two books to me were WAY too sappy and smoochy, but this last one. . .WOW! She delivered! Aside from the 4 or so typos I noticed (seriously people, how do these simple mistakes make it into print. Aren't there like 20 editors that are supposed to catch that stuff??) this book captivated me. True, I do think Stephenie flirted with "the line" just a bit in the honeymoon chapters, but I understand now why she did that, I think. At least it's not like other books where they go into way too much detail. But holy cow, does she create a whole new side of the vampires world that us regular old people would never even begin to imagine. How do you make vampires so loveable and find yourself rooting for them?? Fantastic job, and yes I have just a bit of Arizona and BYU pride for her. I'm looking forward to the movies. I just hope they don't ruin the books. I'd say its worth reading the series just for this last book, that's how much I enjoyed it!

Oh, P.S. this summer I also read "The Host" loved it a whole heck-of-a-lot too. Seriously, one of the most fascinating, intriguing books I'd read in a while. Once again, how do you make a sci-fi/romantic/suspenseful novel so readable? Check it out.

Hi Elder Keith - (LOVE your blog, but I never comment.) I loved The Host! I suffered through the vampire series just to see what all the fuss was about, but I thought The Host was fantastic! I am so happy that you thought so, too. Are you going to be at the mission reunion in Utah on October 11? Love, Sister Spackman
