Jordan's 100 Things

All right. I saw this on one of my friends blogs and I thought, how in the world do you find the time to write 100 Things about yourself? Then I thought who would want to read them about me? But then I decided it doesn't matter if you want to or not, because it's just fun to think about your life and what makes you, you. So this is me in a nutshell, and I warn you I'm one weird duck. But that's why I'm me, and that's why you all love me.

1. I've always wished life were a musical.

2. Sometimes I pretend it is and I bust out singing random lines and melodies to those I interact with.

3. I enjoy speaking in random accents but have not quite mastered Irish just yet.
I do a mean Scottish and English, and Jamaican!

4. I love Jack Weyland books and feel a portion of my testimony of the Gospel grew because of reading these books in my teenage years.

5. I used to go to Hot Topic and try on their Gothic clothes.

6. Secretly I wondered what it would be like to be Goth.

7. I think marshmallow cream is a piece of heaven from the sky.

8. When I was 12, I once tried to get my friends to call me Darrell (my middle name.) It lasted one day.

9. Swimming is what I do to substitute drugs. (It's how I get my high.)

10. I love getting my fingers and toes pruny from being in the water too long.

11. I'm pretty sure I was supposed to be born a dolphin.

12. I love the smell of chlorine.

13. I love when blonde hair turns green from chlorine.

14. I secretly love getting sunburned even though it's bad! It makes me feel out-doorsy.

15. I always told myself I tanned a nice honey-brown, rather than the red-tan I had. (more red than tan.)

16. I once fell asleep while lifeguarding.

17. I've saved a drowning victim.

18. When I was little I wanted to swim in the Olympics.

19. I thought about trying out for the BYU Swim Team.

20. I once signed a major record deal.

21. When I was little I auditioned for the Mickey Mouse Club.

22. I once told a friend I talked to animals.

23. I wanted to have a girlfriend since before kindergarten (I'm a very romantic soul.)

24. My biggest fear in life while growing up was that no one would ever love me enough to marry me. (Boy did I luck out!)

25. I once asked out 10 different girl in a row at a middle school dance before one of them agreed to go out with me.

26. She dumped me the next day.

27. I wrote my first song in the 4th grade.

28. It was about me not being good at sports.

29. I started a band in the 4th grade called: "A Bad Experiment!"

30. The logo for the band had a test tube exploding with a cloud of smoke.

31. I used to make music videos with my friends.

32. I once was the most loyal Christina Aguilera fan you would ever meet.

33. I had over 100 pictures of her on my wall during my senior year of high school.

34. I wised up and replace those pictures with church poster before my mission.

35. I've been in over 15 musical theater productions and have never taken one drama or acting class.

36. My favorite role I played was Charlie Brown.

37. Secretly, I think I am in fact Charlie Brown.

38. I hated wearing speedos at swim meets.

39. I used to plan out my first school week's clothes to wear.

40. After school clothes shopping, we had fashion shows at my house.

41. I once thought I was cool enough to pull off a hot pink hyper-colored shirt.

42. In fact, I still think I am cool enough to pull of a hot pink hyper-colored shirt. Anyone know where I can find one?

43. I thought my head gear looked cool, and secretly loved having my braces on!

44. I always loved people that didn't care what other people thought about them.

45. I always tried to be one of these people but failed to pull it off.

46. I was voted "Best Laugh" in High School.

47. I have a really big guttural laugh.

48. I can make myself laugh on command.

49. Sometimes I make people become cartoon characters in my mind and I always assign them a cartoon animal based off of what they look like (i.e. rabbits, geese, ostrich, squirrels, and baby chicks are usually the most common. I have no idea why.)

50. I have never assigned myself a cartoon animal and I don't know why. I just can't decide what I am and if anyone suggests porky the pig you are written off in my book.

51. I was voted "Biggest Mouth" in middle school.

52. It hurt my feelings.

53. I tried to start a school newspaper in 6th grade. It didn't work out because everybody wanted to be the editor and I WAS THE EDITOR!

54. Purple has always been my favorite color. And I'm secure enough with myself to admit this!

55. When it comes to shoes, belts, and watches I always choose brown over black.

56. I cannot wear brown shoes with a black belt (or vice versa.)

57. I didn't take choir in 7th Grade!

58. I took Knowledge Bowl instead cause I thought I was destined to be a brainiac! (I saw an episode of Saved By The Bell where they were on Knowledge Bowl and thought it was the cool thing to do. My mom was very supportive. Boy was I misdirected!)

59. I have to check the Billboard Charts every week.

60. I always have to have the top song on my iTunes.

61. I love crying. (It makes me feel manly in a weird way.)

62. I love sad movies.

63. I love suspenseful movies.

64. I love movies.

65. Sometimes I think my life is a movie.

66. I was an EFY Counselor.

67. My favorite EFY memory involve me wearing a swim cap, a nose piece (plug), and inventing a song about not going up the stairs. (To the tune of London Bridges: Please do not go up the stairs, up the stairs, up the stairs. Please do not go up the stairs cause we said so!) That one's for you Rache.

68. My dream was to be recorded on an EFY CD.

69. Up to this point, I've been denied that dream.

70. I'm a World Champion A Capella singer. (No really I am! 2005 BYU Vocal Point won the World Championship at the Lincoln Center in New York City! I was the high tenor singer of that year's Vocal Point.)

71. I served my mission in New York City and Long Island.

72. I also served in Bermuda, the land of paradise.

73. I once worked at the Buckle and became way too trendy and fashion-oriented.

74. I was the top-selling Buckle salesman in the country.

75. I named my son after a pair of jeans at the Buckle.

76. They were skinny jeans. Yikes!

77. I'm head over heels in love with my wife.

78. I tell her everything! More than she probably wants to know.

79. Teaching is the hardest but most fulfilling job I've yet encountered.

80. I love my wife's hair.

81. I once corn-rowed my hair with beads in Mexico on the beach. A little mexican lady with amazingly fast hands did it for a couple of pesos.

82. I was the whitest person on that beach.

83. No, I was not drunk and never have been.

84. I've never had any alcohol, drugs, or cigarettes in my life.

85. I have no desire to ever try them. (I have my swimming and music instead!)

86. I thought I was going through withdrawals on my mission because I couldn't listen to my tunes (that's why I compare them to drugs.) I served my mission in New York City and I fell in love with Long Island!

87. I don't get why rehab is such a popular topic for '07-'08.

88. There's too many songs about rehab.

89. I used to love to go clubbing and referred to myself as a "club-hopper."

90. Not so much now.

91. I would go to the movies every weekend if I could.

92. I'm obsessed with buying DVD's and feel like I need to own every movie I've ever liked (that's a lot!)

93. I love PF Chang's Chicken Lettuce Wraps.

94. I eat them even though sometimes they might give me the runs.

95. I was a singing waiter at the Macaroni Grill.

96. I got fired from the Macaroni Grill because the manager didn't like me.

97. It still chaps my hide that somebody fired me and didn't like me.

98. My family's crazy, but I love them.

99. I'm the only one "on-line" in my family of seven kids!

100. We have almost 30 grandkids in the family now, and it's basically up to Ariana and I to increase that number!

Oh my gosh! I loved this! I am totally you as well. Remember that jean backpack you bought for way too much??? Where is it now? I think you, Ariana, James and I should all be best friends. Remember when we saw Napoleon Dynamite? You are hilarious. I wish I could have talked to you while I read your list!

Jordan, this was great. I totally remember the Christina obsession! You are definately an awesome singer, so it doesn't surprise me at all that you are award winning. I had no idea you worked at Buckle, you should've told me; that's awesome! You're so funny, and you do have a great laugh.

Wow! Now I want to write 100 things about me...except, I don't think I can make it as entertaining as your's was. It made me miss you, and remember Moki and the Christina wall, and want to sit out in the sun for an extra long swim meet! Come to Utah again soon!
