Concert Week!

Wow was this a stressful week for me. I felt beyond drained when it was over.

Tuesday the middle school had their concert.
They loved this song, "We Go Together" from Grease, and had a cute pose at the end.

Wednesday the high school had their concert.

Two concert, two nights in a row, back to back. . .never again.

The kids did AMAZING! I cannot believe their growth in such a short time. Miracles are happening in the SUSD Choir program!
(The only thing I really worried about was how much time the H.S. choir set was. It was just over an hour and we were sharing the concert with the band, jazz band, and orchestra. It's just so hard for me to whittle down on time! There's so much I want the kids to perform, and I think it's a waste if we aren't able to get it all in. Nobody complained though. Guess the show was rockin' enough. I tried to make it exciting!

Some highlights were the Bel Canto girl's Lollipop choreographed number with Lollipop's made by the art dept. And then an arrangement of Rhianna's "Take A Bow" that the girls and I did together. The choreography was hip hop and pretty vocal pointish.

Taste of Sound rocked Natasha Bedingfield's "Unwritten." Couldn't have been more proud of them!!

Everyone in the community has been really supportive and keeps telling me this is what the Safford Music Dept. has needed. I hope I can keep up the momentum and excitement and continue to build the program that my amazing predecessor, Dee Wilkins, built up for me.

Then I went into hibernation status for the next 3 days. (After work and lessons of course.)

Jaxon had fun this week in the yard. He loves to make this mud hole and then sit in it. Crazy boy.
