So this weekend I attended the Eastern Arizona Cinderella pageant. Some of the girls I've been teaching lessons to have been getting ready for this monstrous event and I was asked to accompany them. Seriously, the pageant lasted for over 4 hours!! I was just there till the talent portion, and I had to wait for three hours.
There were 3 divisions: "tot", "Mini Mini Miss (or post tot, I forgot the name)", "Mini Miss" and "Miss Teen." I was ok with the Mini Miss and Miss Teen, but my goodness, those 3 year olds on stage. . .I was pretty shocked that these iddy biddy kids who can't even talk yet prance around on the stage and smile for the judges. They were so cute, but I felt like it was a little intense for them.
Props goes out to all the parents who work at getting ready for this thing, I for one would never be able to do it. My feelings are that if a pageant has a scholarship monetary award for winning (like for high school and college girls) than it's great. My sisters did pageants, and it helped with their schooling a lot. This pageant today just seemed a little. . .foofy.
