Fall is in the air!

We had an awesome trip this last week. We went up to Utah to say hi to all our old friends. This is definitely one of the perks of being a school teacher. . ."VACATION DAYS!" It kind of makes up for all the other crud I have to deal with, one being a full time baby sitter!:) We had many adventurous moments on our journey to Zion. One was we were one of the first to arrive at a huge car accident and got stopped on the highway somewhere in the Painted Desert. When we turned the car off, Jax woke up, so we left the music and lights running while we read. Well, when it came time for up and going again. OUR CAR DIED! We were borrowing my parents car, so I freaked! We were at the front of hundreds of cars and I flagged a nice indian man over who helped me jump the car. But there was no battery in the hood of the car. It's underneath the backseat! How ghetto huh? Anyway, meant for a memorable evening. We got on our way after my dad was sure to have the highway patrol out looking for us! Embarrassing! Then we got to a nice little mountain road and I KILLED BAMBI! I now understand where the term "deer in head lights" comes from! We turned around a corner and BAM! There was a momma and a baby deer. The baby jumped out into the road, and I JUST MISSED the mom. We nailed Bambi's hind end parts and she went spiraling out into the darkness. I felt really bad and we have a litte tuft of hair as a monument on my mom and dad's cracked bumper. At least we didn't die though, huh? Ha ha! These fall pictures were taken up in Cove, UT while we were visiting my sister, Kelly. It truly is one of the prettiest places on earth. By the way, Jaxon was a dream on the road. We really couldn't ask for a better little boy!

Sounds like you had a great adventure! Sheesh! Killed Bambi, bonded with an indian chief over car issues. What a great trip! Glad you made it there safely and I love the pictures! I miss Utah's seasons! It's so pretty up there!

Wow - sounds like a real adventure! I am always SO terrified of hitting a deer on the drive to AZ, so I'm glad to hear that it can happen and you and the car can still come out alive!! I wish we had known that you were coming to Utah! We would have loved to have seen you. But we totally understand. :) We'll be in Gilbert just after Christmas, so we'll have to book some time so that we can catch up. By the way - HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY to Mr. Jaxon! I can't believe that he was born a YEAR ago - and I can't believe how much can happen in one year!! We love you guys and miss you terribly! Hopefully we'll get a chance to catch up soon.
